Sheila M. Thurman, Professional Learning Communities School Resource Specialist, has over 10 years of experience working with the Northeast Regional Professional Development Center and 25 years of experience working with elementary and middle school students as a teacher in the classroom and after-school programs.  Prior to becoming a teacher, Sheila earned a Bachelor of Science in K-8 Education from Truman State University and a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Missouri- Columbia.  She has held various leadership positions at the school and state levels.  School Level:  Atlanta C-3 Curriculum Director, Atlanta C-3 Missouri School Improvement Program (MSIP) Coordinator, and Atlanta C-3 Professional Development Committee Chairperson.  State Level:  Selected Teacher as Regional Resource ( STARR) program, Missouri Assessment Program Facilitator, Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Assistant Director of Assessment and certified trainer for Decision-Making for Results and Data Teams.

Lori Ladwig has served the N.E. RPDC as one of the two Professional Learning Community Resource Specialists since July 2007.  Before that she was selected as the 2006-2007 STARR Teacher serving the N.E. Missouri schools.  Prior to her being selected as a STARR Teacher, Lori was an Elementary teacher in the Adair County R-II School District.

Lori works in conjunction with DESE to provide training and support for all schools in the N.E. Missouri region.  This involves providing training, support and development of the PLC Leadership teams for each school involved in the PLC process.  In addition, Lori is a certified data trainer and is currently working with individual schools and districts in the development of their data teams, on collaboration training, disaggregating and using data and other school improvement efforts.  She loves working with a variety of people and enjoys collaborating with other school resource specialists to provide support to schools.
