Tom Robb - PLC Resource Specialist

Tom Robb was an educator in the Odessa R-7 School District for twenty-seven years; first as a Social Studies teacher, then as a Staff Mentor/Instructional Coach.  His responsibilities included developing curriculum, planning and delivering professional development for teachers and administrators, and directing the new teacher mentoring program.  He earned his Bachelor of Science in Education from Northeast Missouri State (Truman State) University and a Master of Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Missouri Kansas City.  His most rewarding professional experiences usually occur when he is working with new teachers or helping others problem-solve.  He is a Missouri native and currently resides in Kansas City with his wife Pamela, who is an early childhood teacher.  He has three children and three grandchildren.  Tom's favorite pastimes are spending time with his family, outdoor cooking, and travel.

Angie Lefman has worked in Missouri education for over 30 years.  Angie worked as a teacher at the elementary and middle school levels; then served as a principal in the Oak Grove School District and as Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction in the Odessa School District.


Currently Angie is one of the PLC professionals at the Kansas City Regional Professional Development Center.  She works in tandem with DESE to provide training and support for schools in the Missouri PLC Project in the Kansas City region.  This involves providing the training, support, and development of the PLC teams for each school involved in the project.  In addition, Angie works with individual schools and districts in the development of their teams, on collaboration training, using data, and other school improvement efforts.

Cathy was a high school math teacher for over 30 years with the Lee's Summit School District.  During this time, she served as a math lead teacher in her building and as the district math specialist for grades 7-12.  Outside of the classroom she was involved with the athletic program for 20 years.  She has also served as contest chair and president of the Missouri Council of Teachers of Mathematics and was also involved in helping to write the GLE's for mathematics.  She has been at the RPDC for three years serving as the Math Consultant and working with the MAP program.  She now works as a PLC consultant but continues her work with schools as a Math Consultant.

Alicia is a Professional Learning Community Consultant for the Kansas City Regional Professional Development Center located in Union Station.  She comes to the RPDC after working for the North Kansas City School District as a classroom teacher, Instructional Coach, Beginning Teacher Facilitator and Mentor, and Elementary Communication Arts Facilitator.  Alicia was a STARR teacher and continues to share her knowledge of best practices with schools around Missouri through BEST Workshops and Conference presentations.


Alicia has earned a Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from the University of Missouri, Masters in Educational Technology from Mid-America Nazarene, and Education Specialist in Administration for William Woods University.


In her spare time, Alicia likes to spend time with her husband Jay and daughter Hayden.  She enjoys shopping, weekends at the lake, and MIZZOU football!!  GO TIGERS!! 

Alicia has a passion for education and working with adult learners.  She looks forward to assisting schools meet and exceed their goals.
