The PLC Resource Specialists in the Heart of Missouri (Columbia)

region are Rob Gordon and Vickie Robb.

Rob Gordon , Ed.D., has served the Heart of Missouri RPDC as one of two Professional Learning Community Resource Specialists since July of 2008.  His background of 30 years as a Missouri educator includes 8 years as a Science teacher and basketball coach, 13 years as a secondary principal and the last 9 years of his public school career in the superintendency.  Rob received his Educational Doctorate from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1996 and in addition to his work in public school improvement,  served as an adjunct professor for William Woods University for over ten years.  During that time, he taught a wide variety of courses within the Masters in Education and Specialist in Education programs.

Dr. Gordon enjoys working with schools throughout the Heart of Missouri region as they work to establish Professional Learning Communities in their schools.  He also works with schools in developing their school improvement/accountability plans, is capable of providing instruction and support in the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, and collaborates with other resource specialists in providing special support to schools.

Vickie has worked in the world of education for the past 32 years, with 31 of those years working in elementary schools in mid-Missouri.  More specifically she was an elementary principal for 25 years in 2 different districts-New Franklin, MO and Columbia, MO.  Prior to her becoming a principal, she worked as a special education educator and a half year as a kindergarten teacher.

Currently, Vickie is one of two PLC professionals at the Heart of Missouri Regional Professional Development Center.  As a school resource specialist, a position she has held since August of 2008, she works in tandem with DESE to provide training and support for all schools in the Missouri PLC Project in the HOM region.  This involves providing the training, support, and development of the PLC coaching teams for each school involved in the project, a 3 year commitment for the schools.   Besides this work, Vickie works with individual schools and districts in the development of their teams, on collaboration training, using data, and other school improvement efforts.   She loves the work and enjoys being involved with schools across the mid regions of the state!
